The PPX5 adhesive was specifically developed for high-performance bonding of these popular thermoplastic polyolefins. SCIGRIP (Macroplexx) PPX5 adhesives has been developed to bond low energy surface plastics such as Polypropylene and Polyethylene effectively, with no special pre-treatments. It’s 2 part, 10:1 mix ratio thixotropic Acrylic based adhesive, which produces tough resilient bonds and is resistant to most chemicals.

Rotational mouldings, made in PE or PP, can have metal inserts included in the process (but only on the outside surface of the mould), slowing down the moulding cycle. SCIGRIP PPX5 allows fasteners and fixings to be applied afterwards, inside or out, thereby increasing the possible combinations. These adhesives also can be used to bond dissimilar plastic substrates (polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, and PMMA); metals (carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum); or fibre-reinforced plastics with a minimum of surface preparation.
